He took part in a field meeting of the Bureau of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in the Tolochin District, BELTA correspondent reports. A number of systemic tasks have been set for scientists, designed to solve, among other things, the problems of production, storage, and processing of fruit and vegetable products. For this purpose, fruit-growing complexes have been established in Pruzhany, Tolochin, and Samokhvalovichi, where fruit crop seedlings are grown, orchards have been planted, modern storage facilities are under construction, and fruit processing technologies are being developed. In the near future, such a complex will be established at one of the enterprises in the Gomel region. According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the complex created at the Tolochin Cannery, which includes an orchard of almost 500 hectares and a fruit storage facility, will become a testing ground for developing modern horticulture technologies. The experience gained by the people of Tolochin will be disseminated to other enterprises in the country. The field meeting of the Bureau of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus discussed issues related to the development of perennial grass seed production and the implementation of the instructions of the President of Belarus given during his visit to the republican unitary enterprise "Tolochin Cannery". -0-
