Employers and trade unions in the Vitebsk region are not paying enough attention to the working conditions of employees' nutrition - KGC

May 23, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Employers and trade unions of some enterprises in the Vitebsk region pay insufficient attention to the conditions and cost of food for their employees. Specialists of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of State Control came to these conclusions after inspecting 11 public catering facilities that provide hot meals to workers and employees at industrial enterprises in the region, the control department informed a BELTA correspondent. For example, in the canteen of Vitebskiye Kovry OJSC, the catering markup increased from 25% to 45% in less than a year. About one-fifth of the employees on the maximum shift eat in the canteen. At the same time, in the canteen of the Vitebsk branch of RUP Beltelecom, the public catering markup is only 10%. In accordance with the collective agreement, the organization allocates funds for employee meals. During the inspections, a number of cases of exceeding the maximum retail markup for socially significant goods were also identified. Violations of trade regulations, sanitary norms and rules, the procedure for using weighing equipment, and accounting were found in all public catering facilities. In the canteens of Vitebskiye Kovry OJSC and VZEP OJSC, semi-finished meat products with expired shelf life were used to prepare dishes. In addition, during the inspection of the VZEP OJSC canteen, violations of the requirements for the free provision of milk or equivalent food products to employees working with hazardous substances were established. Throughout last year and the first quarter of the current year, employees in contact with inorganic lead compounds were not provided with pectin-containing products in addition to milk or dairy products. In total, about 50 people at the enterprise should be provided with pectin-containing products monthly. The issuance of such products was resumed only in April during the inspection. Based on the results of the inspections, 32 people were brought to administrative responsibility with fines totaling Br6.1 million, and 11 people were brought to disciplinary responsibility. Currently, the organization of employee meals at enterprises and organizations in the region is mainly carried out by the enterprises themselves. There are 148 industrial organizations in Vitebsk, Orsha, Polotsk, and Novopolotsk. 77 organizations (52%) have 122 public catering facilities with 7,000 seats. The coverage of employees with meals at enterprises remains low, ranging from 7% to 25%. According to the State Control Committee, the problems of organizing dietary meals for workers have not been resolved: individual dietary dishes included in the menu do not solve the problems. -0-
