May 20, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Nanotechnology and controlled biosynthesis are the basis for joint developments of the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine (VSAVM) and the Vitebsk Biopharma. This was told to a BELTA correspondent by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the academy, Candidate of Veterinary Sciences Alexander Subbotin. 25 innovative projects of the university and the enterprise are presented at the innovation and investment forum "Innovative Business - Investments in the Future," which is taking place today in Vitebsk. For the first time, a multicomponent drug based on natural environmentally friendly substances obtained by controlled biosynthesis with a pronounced systemic effect has been developed for the effective therapy of severely ill animals with respiratory and gastrointestinal syndromes of polyfactorial etiology. Over the past three years, the academy's scientists have developed 140 veterinary drugs, the economic effect of which amounted to Br9.3 billion. The Vitebsk Order of the Badge of Honor State Academy of Veterinary Medicine has 350 teachers, including 7 academicians and corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and foreign academies, 22 doctors of sciences, professors, and 183 candidates of sciences. 5,000 students are studying at the university, including those from abroad.
