The population of the Vitebsk region prefers to attend concerts and go to the cinema
June 24, Rossony / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The population of the Vitebsk region prefers to attend concerts, go to the cinema, visit museums and exhibitions. These conclusions can be drawn after analyzing the growth rates of paid services to the population, which were presented by Oleg Matskevich, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, at an off-site meeting of the regional executive committee, BELTA correspondent reports.
Thus, the growth rate of services from concert activities exceeded 160%, from cinema screenings - by almost the same amount, from visiting museums and exhibitions - by over 130%. This growth was facilitated by the introduction of new forms of work, the creation of socio-cultural service centers, and folk art centers. Museums have started to hold more educational lectures and traveling exhibitions.
At the same time, the growth rate of paid services in January-April of the current year for the region as a whole amounted to 105.9%, with a projected figure of 113-114%. In terms of service growth rates, the region ranks second in the republic (excluding the capital), and in terms of service consumption per resident - sixth place.
Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets expressed dissatisfaction with this state of affairs. According to him, the regional executive committee's economy committee lacks a system of measures to develop paid services. In this regard, he instructed to conduct a sociological survey among the population of the region in each settlement, which would help identify people's needs for new services and the development of household and transport services. The governor also emphasized that in education and healthcare, it is necessary to approach the increase in services very carefully and thoughtfully. -0-
