Natalia Kochanova: it is a matter of honor for all of us to move the situation in the Orsha district from a standstill

An off-site meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee on the development of the Orsha District was held in Orsha. The Head of the Presidential Administration, Natalya Kochanova, gave a harsh assessment of the work of local authorities.

"You have no time to get started, the time for persuasion is over. We must see the results and the effectiveness of the decisions that have already been signed by the Head of State. Practically none of the key performance indicators for the past year have been met," Natalya Kochanova emphasized.

In her opinion, this is primarily due to omissions in personnel work. "There is no other reason for not fulfilling the set task. Whatever decisions and preferences are made at the republican level regarding the Orsha region, nothing will work until the heads of enterprises, organizations, institutions, and local authorities start working here," said the Head of the Presidential Administration.

She noted that she had visited six or seven cities similar to Orsha in terms of population, enterprises, and infrastructure, but had never seen such a situation anywhere. "If you want to achieve results, you will have them. But it depends only on you. Start working immediately. It is a matter of honor for all of us to turn around and move the situation in the Orsha region from a dead end," said Natalya Kochanova.

She recalled that exactly six months had passed since the meeting with the participation of the President in Orsha, at which a fundamental assessment of what was happening was given and the government was changed. "In my opinion, no one has drawn conclusions. And first of all, local authorities. Everything you proposed is accumulated in the normative acts signed by the Head of State. Why is it not being implemented as it should be now? No one will wait, proposals will be made regarding personnel, it won't work any other way," emphasized the Head of the Presidential Administration.
