Natalya Kochanova: The interest in the upcoming Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia is indeed huge

Наталья Кочанова: интерес к предстоящему Форуму регионов Беларуси и России действительно огромный
The interest in the upcoming XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia is indeed huge. This was stated to journalists by the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, Natalya Kochanova, during a working trip to Polotsk to monitor the progress of preparations for the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia.

"The interest is indeed huge. Many are asking us to participate in the work of the sections and the plenary session," said Natalya Kochanova. In confirmation of her words, the speaker reported that, for example, in the section that will be held in the Belagroprombank building, the participation of 60 people was initially planned, but it is already clear that the number of participants will exceed 100. "We are now thinking about how to accommodate all guests so that it is comfortable to work and we can show the glorious history of our native Belarus," added Natalya Kochanova.

The Chairperson of the Council of the Republic noted that the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia has established itself as a unique platform for communication between the leaders of the regions of Belarus and Russia. The theme of the XI Forum will be innovative approaches in education, culture, healthcare, and economy. "We will try to do everything possible to ensure that the work of the sections and the plenary session yields results and has an effect on our cooperation," emphasized the speaker.
At the same time, in addition to discussing the announced topics, the organizers of the upcoming forum have planned an extensive cultural program. They intend to show Belarusian colleagues Belarus as a country with its own statehood and rich history. The speaker expressed confidence that the planned activities would be successfully implemented, and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, as well as the leadership of Polotsk and Novopolotsk, are currently working on it.

"We are preparing for these events together, and we want them to be held at a sufficiently high level," noted Natalia Kochanova. "We expect it to be a memorable event for our guests from the Russian Federation and for the Belarusian public."
The Chairperson of the Council of the Republic added that Polotsk was chosen as one of the venues for the Forum of Regions because it is the oldest city in Belarus. She noted that history is present at every step here.

Natalia Kochanova pointed out that during the reconstruction of historical buildings, special attention is paid to preserving their historical and cultural value. For example, the governor's house was once located in the Belagroprombank building. The educational building of the Polotsk Cadet School moved into the former hospital complex buildings. "Even those buildings that have not been used for a long time, in particular the Officers' House, are acquiring a new look. These will be good buildings, good auditoriums for Polotsk University," said the speaker.
The Chairperson of the Council of the Republic visited the reconstructed building of the former Officers' House, OJSC "Belagroprombank" (one of the forum's sections will be held here), the Polotsk Cadet School, the St. Sophia Cathedral, where renovation and restoration work is currently underway, and the Holy Euphrosyne Stavropegic Convent.
