The Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, Head of the Supervisory Board of Naftan OJSC, Natalia Kochanova, held a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the OJSC, which reviewed the enterprise's performance in 2019 and the progress of investment projects.

Special attention was paid to the construction of the delayed coking unit. Natalia Kochanova demanded to accelerate the work within the project to complete it within the deadlines set by the Head of State. "We need to complete the construction and installation work in May and reach the target parameters in September of this year," she said. "The customer and the contractor need to work seriously, increasing the number of workers on construction sites, and promptly resolve the issue of equipping them with additional equipment to complete everything on time. Of course, the task is not easy, because during the implementation of investment projects, issues always arise that need to be resolved without delay," added Natalia Kochanova.

The modernization of the plant will increase the depth of oil refining from 72% to 90%, the yield of light oil products from 53-55% to 65%, and obtain a new product – petroleum coke. It is used as fuel in the cement industry, as well as in the energy sector. In a mixture with low-sulfur coke, this product can be used in metallurgy.

The issue of providing assistance to agricultural enterprises that are on the plant's balance sheet was also discussed at the meeting of the supervisory board.

Answering journalists' questions following the meeting, Natalia Kochanova noted that despite the fact that the conditions for oil supply have changed and there are issues with the capacity utilization of Belarusian refineries with raw materials, the situation should be resolved in the near future. "Now there are many alternative sources of oil supply in the world, I think this issue will be resolved soon," said Natalia Kochanova.
