Natalia Kochanova calls on deputies to take a more active stance in resolving people's issues
Natalya Kochanova drew attention to working with the public – this includes citizens' appeals, holding direct lines, and meetings with workforces. "This is not an easy job, and all heads of enterprises, organizations, institutions, and deputies of various levels should be involved in it. When people are informed about what is happening in the region and the country, they have fewer questions. In the Vitebsk region, regarding personal appointments and appeals to higher authorities, working with people is properly established. Nevertheless, it needs to be intensified in all directions, and it must yield results," said the Speaker of the upper house of parliament.
Addressing deputies of various levels, including those recently elected to the country's parliament from the Vitebsk region, Natalya Kochanova emphasized that their work should be more visible. Parliamentarians need to take a more active stance in resolving the population's issues. "We must clearly understand that people have elected us, and we must do everything to ensure that the issues raised by citizens are heard. People will evaluate our work by our actions," said the Speaker.
Among the priority tasks is improving the well-being of citizens. Local authorities, the deputy corps, and the country's leadership need to actively work on this, Natalya Kochanova stressed. The Chairperson of the Council of the Republic also focused on the importance of balanced regional development. In any district or city, a person should have the opportunity to realize their potential. "It is important for people to stay and work in the Vitebsk region," she noted.
