Natalia Kochanova spoke about her small homeland and women in power

Head of the Presidential Administration Natalya Kochanova on the air of the Belarus 1 TV channel spoke about her small homeland, family, and women in power.

Natalya Kochanova admitted that she has a special attitude towards her hometown of Polotsk. "I haven't left here for so long. In recent years, of course, I lived and worked in Novopolotsk, but it's very close - 7 km. For me, Polotsk is everything. I was born here, studied at school, graduated from university in Novopolotsk, my children were born here. Therefore, my whole life, my formation took place on my native land. And I am happy that the current year is taking place under the sign of the Year of Small Homeland," she said.

As the Head of the Presidential Administration noted, she feels a sense of home as soon as she enters Polotsk. She tries to visit more often and has no doubt that everyone loves the places where they were born. "The older you get, the more acutely you feel it," said Natalya Kochanova.

She considers Polotsk a significant city for Belarus, the origin of statehood and culture, and does not rule out that it may receive the status of a museum city in the future.

Natalya Kochanova also shared her opinion on whether it is difficult to manage men. "There are quite a lot of women working in the Administration. It cannot be said that it is a male team. Previously, I really had to work mainly with men, because the first significant position that I had to experience myself was Deputy Chairman for Construction and Housing and Communal Services in Polotsk. It was then that I was first asked such questions. I don't see anything supernatural. It seems to me that it is not fundamentally important whether to work with a man or a woman, as long as they are responsible, decent people who are focused on completing the tasks set," she believes.

According to her, recently more and more representatives of the fair sex are appearing in the power vertical. In particular, a woman was recently appointed head of a district executive committee in the Gomel region. Answering the question of whether it is possible to pay enough attention to relatives while holding a high position, Natalya Kochanova said that family is important for any person, especially

for a woman. "Of course, there is not enough time to do something substantial. But the family is no longer so large. The children are grown up and live independently," she said.
