The Braslav Lakes National Park plans to develop aviary farming and cultivate valuable fish species

November 24, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The state environmental institution "Braslav Lakes National Park" plans to develop a fenced enclosure economy for organizing sport hunting and breeding valuable fish species, the general director of the national park, Andrei Kudin, told a BELTA correspondent. These are promising areas of activity, which the national park has already begun to implement, the interlocutor emphasized. This year, the park administration signed an agreement with a design organization for survey work and the preparation of design and estimate documentation for the creation of a fenced enclosure economy for wild animals of hunting species. Initially, about 1 thousand hectares are planned to be allocated for these purposes. In addition to the traditional representatives of the animal world for the park, introduced species of wild animals will be kept in the enclosures. The creation of a fenced enclosure economy will allow the national park to increase the attractiveness of its services and increase foreign exchange earnings. Also, "Braslav Lakes" plans to begin the construction of an incubation workshop for breeding valuable fish species. "There are 74 reservoirs on the territory of the National Park, significant funds were allocated for stocking them under the state program for the development of fisheries, and we will continue to develop this topic," Andrei Kudin noted. To increase the flow of people wishing to fish, the park administration intends to increase the number of parking spots and develop recreational fishing, he added. -0-
