Natural products, Belarusian flavor, and active entertainment attracted guests to the eco-festival near Novopolotsk
Natural products, national flavor, and active entertainment were organized on September 12 for guests of the "Rodnik Zdorovya" (Spring of Health) festival in the urban settlement of Borovukha near Novopolotsk, as reported by the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee.
The ecological festival "Rodnik Zdorovya" gathered guests for the fifth time. During the celebration, the "Prydzvinski Vyaskovy Kutok - Zdaroŭye Halouny Vytok" (Dzvina Village Corner - Health is the Main Source) site was open, featuring products from the best agro-estates of Miory, Lepel, Postavy, and Polotsk districts, and the towns of Braslav, Polotsk, and Disna. Traditionally, there were tastings of national Belarusian dishes, master classes in wool felting and macrame, and lessons in Belarusian folk dances, which have already become popular among residents and guests of the festival.
Also, everyone had the opportunity not only to watch a demonstration performance by the best riders of the "Bayard" equestrian club but also to participate themselves. Throughout the celebration, the best performances by creative groups from the city and district were featured for guests and residents of the urban settlement, and a photo presentation of the sporting achievements of the Novopolotsk State College of the Olympic Reserve was held.
At the festival, a "Fair Sale" of vegetables and fruits grown in the Pridvinye region opened its doors, and the "Ecomoda - 2015" competition took place. A new children's sports and play area was solemnly opened in the park of the urban settlement. Attractions were operating all day in Borovukha.
The "Rodnik Zdorovya" festival was conceived as a promotional event on the theme of environmental safety and the preservation of a favorable environment, rational use of natural resource potential, and conservation of biological and landscape diversity. The festival debuted in September 2010 when the project, as part of the "Agenda for the 21st Century" Program, received a grant and was supported by the UNDP/EU. Today, the "Rodnik Zdorovya" festival has the status of a traditional event.
