Last Tuesday, the regional library hosted an award ceremony for the winners of the literary competition among children and youth "We Live and Remember", dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Vitebsk region and the Great Victory.

It was organized by the regional branch of the Union of Writers of Belarus with the support of the education department, the main department of ideological work, culture and youth affairs of the regional executive committee, and the regional and Vitebsk city committees of the BRSM. Its goal is not only to identify sprouts of literary talent but also to stimulate spiritual development among youth.

The 1070 works submitted in Russian and Belarusian were evaluated by a jury of members of the regional branch of the SPB: Boris Beleženko, Nikolai Namestnikov, Olga Rusilko, headed by its chairman Tamara Krasnova-Gusachenko. The competition showed that the literary Vitebsk region has good potential. Diplomas and gifts (books, notebooks, writing materials) were awarded to 45 winners. The photo shows one of them, Pavel Vlasenko, a student of the Korenevsky kindergarten-secondary school in the Beshenkovichi district, who took first place in the nomination "Poetry" in the age group of 13 to 15 years.
