N. Domashkevich advocates for increasing the legal literacy of the population
October 17, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Belarus President's Aide - Chief Inspector for Vitebsk Region Nikolai Domashkevich advocates for increasing the legal literacy of the population. He expressed his point of view during a direct telephone line with residents of the region, BELTA correspondent reports.
"People need to be explained the current legislation, their rights and obligations enshrined in law," the President's Aide believes. Many citizens' appeals arise due to legal illiteracy. "It is not easy for an ordinary person to understand the intricacies of housing and land legislation, so the justice department of the regional executive committee needs to provide legal information and explain the specifics of the legislation on the pages of local media," Nikolai Domashkevich recommended.
The Chief Inspector for Vitebsk Region also believes that when working with citizens' appeals, local authorities need to interact more broadly with legal services, including the justice department of the regional executive committee.
Nikolai Domashkevich received 40 calls during the three-hour direct telephone line. Some of these appeals only required competent legal advice. -0-
