Non-industrial regions should be developed based on their natural resources - Nikolai Sherstnev

Non-industrial regions have their own advantages, which should be relied upon when developing a strategy for the development of such territories. This was noted by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, at a ceremony dedicated to the opening of the capital renovated polyclinic of the Rossonskaya Central District Hospital.

"Rossony is not a simple district, it is located on the periphery, and besides, there are no large industrial enterprises here. This is a serious drawback and at the same time a huge advantage," said the governor. - Rossony is an absolutely clean, ecological region. And this is the main advantage of the district, which should be based on when developing a strategy for the further development of the territories."

"Industrial megacities are attractive because there is work and a decent salary there. But, as for the conditions, people are not very comfortable in large industrial centers, they want to live and raise children in an ecologically clean place. Rossony is suitable for this, but there must be work here. And this problem should be solved by the residents of the district together with the authorities," Nikolai Sherstnev emphasized.

He also stressed that the living conditions and infrastructure in small, remote district centers should be the same as in cities. And a lot has already been done to erase these differences.

"For example, a wonderful sports facility has been created in Rossony - you have a swimming pool and a sports and recreation complex. Not all district centers can boast of such facilities, and residents of neighboring Russia, who come here to play sports, which brings money into the district budget, have already appreciated your sports facilities," said Nikolai Sherstnev.
