Illegal windshield washer fluid worth over Br160 million was seized from a retail network of gas stations in the Vitebsk region, the BELTA correspondent was informed by the information and public relations department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
During an inspection of roadside service and trade facilities, a raid group from the traffic police department of the Vitebsk District Department of Internal Affairs discovered the sale of alcohol-containing windshield washer fluid, not marked with excise stamps of the Republic of Belarus in the established manner, in the retail network of gas stations. A working group, which included representatives of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes of the Vitebsk District Department of Internal Affairs and the Department for Financial Investigations of the State Control Committee for the Vitebsk Region, seized over 100 canisters, each with a capacity of 5 liters, from the retail network.
As it became known, this product was supplied for sale by a Vitebsk entrepreneur. During an inspection of warehouse premises, together with employees of the tax inspection of the Oktyabrsky District of Vitebsk, the fact of storing about 3 thousand containers of low-temperature windshield washer fluid produced in the Russian Federation without proper marking was revealed and documented. The illegal batch is valued at over Br160 million. The offender faces administrative liability under Art. 12.35 (violation of the requirements of legislation on marking goods with control (identification) marks) of the Code of Administrative Offenses in the form of fines with confiscation of goods.
