He stated this today at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, where the results of the implementation of the region's demographic security program for 2007-2010 and tasks for 2011-2015 were discussed, a BELTA correspondent reports. "It is necessary to foster healthy lifestyle habits in people and introduce responsibility for their health," the governor is convinced. Smoking and alcoholism, as is known, have a negative impact on health. At the same time, more and more young people are susceptible to these harmful habits. According to Alexander Kosinets, the time has come to introduce a ban on the sale of alcohol to persons under 21 years of age. The Vitebsk State Medical University has been instructed to develop a program for smoking prevention. At the suggestion of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations department, the issue of the possibility of increasing the retail prices of fortified fruit and berry wines will be considered in the Vitebsk region in the near future. -0-
