Driver with half a ton of meat detained in Orsha

Law enforcement officers of the Orsha Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Security Department detained a thief red-handed near the territory of the Orsha Meat Canning Plant at night, the commander of the militia battalion of the Orsha Department of Security, Valery Pilyukov, told a BELTA correspondent. The thief was caught at the moment when he was throwing bags of meat products over the fence. Law enforcement officers believe that he had accomplices among the enterprise's employees, who prepared and packed a total of 16 bags containing 640 kg of beef, pork, and liver. The detainee turned out to be an unemployed 27-year-old resident of Orsha. Previously, he worked at the Orsha Meat Canning Plant and was fired for petty theft of products. The amount of damage that the thieves could have caused to the enterprise, had their plan succeeded, would have amounted to more than Br4 million. A criminal case has been initiated against the thief under Article 205, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus "Theft". An investigation is underway into this fact. Law enforcement officers believe that it will not be difficult for them to identify his accomplices. They will also face deserved punishment. -0-
