There is nothing more important for a person than peace and bread – Alexander Subbotin
The spring-summer drought affected the development of agricultural crops. Alexander Mikhailovich noted that this year's natural conditions once again confirmed that the best result is achieved by those who strictly adhere to technology, widely use the achievements of agricultural science, apply high-yielding crop varieties, and work with high-performance equipment.
As a result, farms in the Vitebsk region harvested 624 thousand tons of grain. In terms of grain production per 1 ball-hectare, the Vitebsk region, like last year, took 4th place, ahead of the Gomel and Mogilev regions. A maximum of grain-silage was procured – a kind of record for the region in this challenging year for fodder procurement.
Year after year, high grain harvest results are achieved by: JSC "Khotily-agro" and "Novoselki-Luchai" of Postavy district, SPC "Larinovka" of Orsha district, Tolochin Cannery, Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm, JSC "Shayterovo" of Verkhnedvinsk district, and "Mazolovo-gaz" of Vitebsk district.
The thousand-ton harvest was exceeded by 261 combine crews, the two-thousand-ton harvest by 26. The three-thousand-ton harvest was surpassed by Maxim Sernov from the open joint-stock company "Agrokombinat "Yubileiny" of Orsha district (3.7 thousand tons).
The yield of rapeseed oilseeds was also better than last year, with an average yield of 17 centners per hectare.
– Today, the priority is the sowing of winter grain crops for next year's harvest, fodder procurement continues, and corn harvesting is underway. The strategy suggests that the region's farmers need to maximize the acreage for winter grain and cruciferous crops to achieve higher results, – the Governor of the Vitebsk region instructed.
