Nikolai Gavrichenko: "A lot is being done in Belarus to attract young specialists to the agro-industrial complex sector"
Rector of VSAVM Nikolai Gavrichenko:
– At the meeting on the development of rural areas and increasing the efficiency of the agricultural sector, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that solving the personnel problem is impossible without creating proper conditions in rural areas: medical care, transport, trade, and domestic services.
The Head of State noted that there are strong exemplary farms in the country that serve as a role model, and specified that they develop on their own and thanks to them, small settlements flourish.
He called for replicating this experience and not waiting for new five-year plans so that people would strive to work there.
The President of Belarus stressed that the personnel shortage is likely a systemic problem for the industry. The shortage of managerial staff and skilled workers is currently around 10%, and veterinarians and zootechnicians – 15%.
Alexander Lukashenko drew attention to the fact that much is being done in Belarus to attract young specialists to the agro-industrial complex. According to him, higher and secondary specialized education institutions allocate targeted quotas, train specialists of various profiles and levels. In addition, they are provided with preferential loans, bonuses, and affordable housing.
Increasing indicators in all areas of the industry, unconditional adherence to technological and labor discipline at each workplace, effective operation of veterinary and zootechnical services, and high-quality personnel training will contribute to the development and prosperity of the agro-industrial complex.
