Nikolai Sherstnev awarded gas workers who laid 1.5 km of gas pipeline in the Chashniki district in a month

Николай Шерстнёв наградил газовиков, за месяц проложивших 1,5 км газопровода в Чашникском районе
The gasification of small settlements in the Vitebsk region not only improves the living conditions of the population but also stimulates industrial development, noted the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, at the award ceremony for employees of UP "Vitebskoblgaz", who laid a gas pipeline in the agro-town of Prozimle, Chashniki district, in just one month. This involved over 1.5 km of networks, saving nearly half of the allocated 200 thousand rubles.

The head of the region emphasized that providing natural gas is one of the main components for increasing the attractiveness of rural life, primarily for young people. Thanks to gasification, issues with heating and reducing utility payments are being resolved.

In Prozimle, a single-family house has already been connected to the gas network, and a cooperative of nine households has been established, where natural gas will soon be available.

By the way, the state provides assistance to consumer cooperatives up to 70% of the cost of work for the construction of street gas distribution networks. For the same purposes, individuals can obtain a loan for up to two years at 3% per annum.

Nikolai Sherstnev drew attention to the fact that before constructing a gas pipeline, the feasibility of bringing such communications to settlements with a small population is always calculated. And the demand from local authorities in this regard is special: whether they can use the benefits of civilization to improve the economic and social situation in the district.

Nikolai Sherstnev: Gasification is the first step towards improving the quality of life in rural areas

– Gasification is the first step towards improving the quality of life in rural areas, – noted the head of the region. – Young people leave for cities, and for them to stay and develop their small homeland, good living conditions are necessary.

The agro-town of Prozemyel is currently home to about 250 people, many of whom work at KUSP "Semena," an enterprise that serves a significant part of the Chashniki District. The enterprise has long needed natural gas: previously, wood was used for the boilers of the five grain drying complexes. Gasification will increase the efficiency and quality of their work.

Vitaliy Vovk, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, who visited the Chashniki District, assessed the ongoing gasification in the Vitebsk Region.

– Natural gas is supplied not only to residential buildings but also to industry, – noted Vitaliy Mikhailovich. – This enables the development of small and medium-sized businesses: new jobs will be created, the outflow from rural areas will slow down, and consequently, small towns and agro-towns will begin to expand.

Reference from "VV": In the Chashniki District, 13 settlements have been gasified, including 3 agro-towns; in the region, there are 363 and 118, respectively. Natural gas supplies about 70% of the housing stock in the Vitebsk Region.
