Николай Шерстнёв обозначил приоритетные задачи для мэра Витебска: благоустройство, привлечение инвесторов и подготовка к "Дажынкам"
The deputies approved Vadim Zaryankin as the new Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee at the regular session of the City Council today.

The new mayor was introduced to the staff of the executive committee, deputies, heads of enterprises and institutions of the city by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev. The governor noted that Vadim Zaryankin is well acquainted with the regional center, as he was the chairman of the State Control Committee of the Vitebsk region.

The head of the region outlined priority tasks for the mayor. Among them are attracting investors to work in the city and creating jobs. "The development of industry is the foundation; without it, there will be no budget revenue. We need existing enterprises to operate effectively, but at the same time, we need to create new ones and attract major investors with favorable conditions. We have plans, and if nothing goes wrong, serious global companies will enter the regional market," the governor noted.

Nikolai Sherstnev urged the head of the city to maintain Vitebsk in proper order, carry out landscaping, solve problems with abandoned buildings, and find interesting solutions in the design of the regional center. "Not to mention the need to annually create social facilities in demand by residents – kindergartens, schools, a swimming pool, a hall for game sports," said the chairman of the regional executive committee.

This year, Vitebsk will host the regional "Dazhynki" festival. A number of facilities are being built in the city for the festival – the Polotsk overpass, a school, city center improvement is planned, the connection of Builders Avenue with the Bilevo microdistrict, and the launch of a waste sorting plant. "All this will be done, but we need to catch up on what has been missed. The first stage of preparation for the holiday should be completed by the "Slavianski Bazaar" festival, and the second – within two months after the forum," added Nikolai Sherstnev, emphasizing that a systematic approach should be applied in all areas of city management.

The Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, Vadim Zaryankin, added that the tasks voiced by the President and the governor are interconnected and relevant. "Teamwork of the branches of power is needed here, so consolidating the efforts of all stakeholders is the task of the city leadership," he noted. "The executive authorities must see and preemptively solve the main problems of the people."

The mayor emphasized that feedback from the press and citizens is important for resolving conflict issues and eliminating difficulties in various spheres of people's lives.
