Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev visited several farms in the Chashniki district on March 29, got acquainted with the production and development plans of JSC "Keramzit Gravel Plant" in Novolukoml, where he also met with journalists.

During the meeting with journalists, the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, noted that an Egyptian company is interested in investing in the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region.

"Finding a good investor is not easy. Many come, but only a few show real interest. The Egyptian company makes a good impression; it confirms its interest with practical steps. For example, a legal entity was registered in just 2 days. They have already met with the management of the tractor plant and determined how much and what kind of equipment they need. This gives hope. We, in turn, are ready to cooperate, solve issues, and create conditions," said the head of the region. According to preliminary information, the Egyptians intend to build their agricultural enterprises in the Ushachi, Sharkovshchina, and Glubokoye districts.

Continuing the topic of agriculture, the governor noted that a meeting on the preparation for spring field work (provision of fertilizers and fuel, equipment repair) was held in Orsha on March 28. One of the problems is the allocation of funds for the upcoming campaign to financially insolvent farms.

"We made proposals and found support at the republican level – enterprises will receive fertilizers and fuel on preferential terms with the possibility of payment until September. By that time, they will harvest the grain and be able to return the money to the state," said Nikolai Sherstnev. Commenting on the situation at JSC "Keramzit Gravel Plant"
