Николай Шерстнёв ознакомился с ходом модернизации Обольского керамического завода: за счет чего продукция станет конкурентоспособной
The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, familiarized himself with the modernization progress of the Obol Ceramic Plant during his working visit to the Shumilino District.

In 2019, the implementation of a project to organize the production of new types of products began, introducing technology and equipment for firing using solid fuels (peat and petroleum coke) and innovative combustion methods. The plant director, Pavel Manak, acquainted the head of the region with the results of the first stage of the plant's modernization, the production of innovative products, and the operation of the robotic brick production line.

Nikolai Sherstnev was interested in the economic effect of modernization, the savings in fuel and energy resources that will be achieved, and the increase in work productivity.

– In modern conditions, one cannot stop developing; one must find one's place in the market and produce products that are in demand by the customer, – emphasized Nikolai Nikolaevich.

As the plant director explained, over four million rubles were allocated from the innovation fund of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee for the project implementation, and another 3.1 million rubles were provided by the Belarusian Innovation Fund. The cost of the equipment necessary for the project implementation is 2.75 million euros. 80 percent of the equipment has already been delivered. The project implementation deadline is September 2022. As a result, natural gas consumption should decrease by three times, the energy intensity of the products will decrease, and consequently, their cost. Obol brick will become more competitive in construction markets, including foreign ones.
