Nikolai Sherstnev visited Begoml, where he analyzed the work and met with the staff of OJSC "Zavod "Vetraź".
According to Nikolai Nikolaevich, the work collective deserves respect and high praise. The production volumes of goods manufactured in the urban settlement of Begoml are growing year by year. This indicates timely and sound management decisions by the plant's leadership, professional skill, and the diligence of employees interested in achieving the best results.
– It would seem that the metal products market is quite complex, with high competition, but the people of Begoml have managed to occupy their niche, – noted Nikolai Sherstnev. – The management, specialists, and the entire well-coordinated team know what to strive for. They are gradually updating equipment and planning the construction of another workshop, which will create new jobs.
The Begoml branch of the Vitebsk Radio Components Plant of PO "Monolit", established in 1980, was engaged in the production of ceramic capacitors for 13 years, and later specialized in metal film products. Over time, due to a lack of investment in production development, the enterprise began to lose its market position.
Reorganization, involving the re-profiling of the plant, gave the people of Begoml another chance for success. In October 2007, the founder's rights of the subsidiary enterprise "Begomlsky Zavod "Vetraź" were transferred to the Mogilev Elevator Machine-Building Plant.
Since then, the residents of Begoml have been assembling parts and units for domestic elevators, mastering the technology for manufacturing metal hoses, stamped products, spring washers (grover washers) that prevent fasteners from loosening, construction nails, and self-tapping screws of various sizes. Relatively recently, they established a joint venture with the Italian company VEGA SRL to manufacture call buttons for elevators.
Last year, the enterprise produced products worth over 7.7 million rubles, which amounted to 133.5% of the 2017 level. Revenue from their sale reached 9.9 million rubles, with a sales profitability of 7.9%. The average monthly salary of the plant workers exceeded one thousand rubles.
In 2018, 500 thousand rubles were invested in fixed assets. Products worth 21.6 thousand dollars were exported, which is 4.9 times higher than the 2017 level. In September of last year, OOO "Vetraz-Vostok" was established in the Russian Federation, with the plant in Begoml as its founder.
Nikolai Sherstnev visited the production workshops and talked with the plant workers. During an on-site reception of citizens organized at OAO "Zavod "Vetraz"", Nikolai Selyuk approached him with a question regarding the acquisition of a land plot for building a house in the village of Budachi. This had not been possible yet, as the infrastructure was not ready.
Part of the work has been completed, with the construction of a well, a water tower, and the connection of power lines remaining. The project also includes the construction of a fire-fighting reservoir. However, the district considers this an inefficient use of budget funds, as there is a lake nearby and a fire and rescue station within a few kilometers. Nikolai Nikolaevich promised to help resolve this issue.
As part of the urban settlement improvement program being implemented, Begoml is set to undergo significant transformation this year. Nikolay Sherstnev inquired about the progress of the planned activities. Specifically, this includes the overhaul of several multi-story residential buildings, road asphalting, the construction of a 40-apartment building to commence in the second half of the year, and the optimization of existing boiler houses.
– One of the most important tasks is the overhaul of the kindergarten, which is attended by over 100 children, – emphasized Oleg Pinchuk. – Thanks to the assistance and support of the regional leadership, the urban settlement will become more beautiful, and living conditions will improve.
In his conversation with Nikolay Sherstnev, Oleg Pinchuk discussed the demographic situation in the district, the importance of planned medical examinations for the rural population, salary payments, and the ongoing spring field work.
