Nikolai Sherstnev visited the scientific and practical center for breeding pedigree cattle and milk production "MazolovoGaz".

Николай Шерстнёв посетил научно-практический центр по выращиванию племенного скота и производству молока «Мазоловогаз»
Last Tuesday, the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, and his deputies Vladimir Belous, Vladimir Penin, and the Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, Viktor Nikolaikin, familiarized themselves with a number of new facilities and implemented technologies at the diversified agricultural enterprise UP "Vitebskoblgaz". Their guide around the farm was the General Director of "Vitebskoblgaz", a member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Petr Shershen.

Tractor with Autopilot

In a field near the village of Khaysy, where two powerful "Kirovets" tractors were cultivating stubble, the guests observed the advantages of the precision farming technology being implemented in the farm. This is made possible by equipping tractors with autopilots. SKhP "MazolovoGaz" has already equipped four "Kirovets" tractors with digital technology, and two more autopilots will be purchased. Mechanizer Alexey Baturo shared his impressions of working with the new system: since many operations are performed automatically, he does not get as tired as before and can work without a replacement; computer-calculated smooth turns and other precise maneuvers save time and increase daily output from 25 to 35 hectares, which also leads to a salary increase. The field is plowed without the slightest flaws; the autopilot signals when the unit reaches its edge or is going uphill, allowing for necessary adjustments without human intervention.

-- After testing all the nuances of the technology at SKhP "MazolovoGaz", we will train the managers of the best agricultural enterprises of the Vitebsk region and their economic services in this work, -- Nikolai Sherstnev summarized what he saw. -- Vitebsk region, with its structural diversity of soils, varying humus content, and other peculiarities, needs this more than anyone else.

Digital technology, or more precisely, the digital economy, allows for balancing fertilizers, saving fuel and seed material through precise sowing, in order to increase labor productivity. With this approach, we achieve 15-20 percent savings, and in conditions of staff shortages, we can attract young people to work with new equipment.

A Chip for Every Heifer

At the breeding farm of SKhP "MazolovoGaz," special sensors for heifer estrus transmit information to a monitor, allowing a specialist to see when the insemination time will be most effective. Over two months of technology testing, 25 heifers were successfully bred with a minimum of three repetitions. The hardware module for automating the weighing of young cattle eliminates the human factor. As soon as a heifer steps onto the scales, a scanner saves the information to a flash drive.

This data cannot be falsified. A similar effect is achieved by using a milk analyzer, which determines the composition of the raw material (fat, protein, and other parameters) in 30 seconds and issues a check as an invoice when sending it to processors. As a result, there are no longer any disagreements regarding quality upon its acceptance at the dairy plant.

Nikolai Sherstnev has tasked the specialists of the farm's veterinary service to conduct a deeper analysis of the reasons for the culling of high-yield cows after two or three lactations in order to extend their productive lifespan. As Petr Shershen noted, this year the farm plans to obtain at least 8500 kilograms of milk per cow.

Convenient Logistics

Near the village of Sokolniki, at the agricultural enterprise "MazolovoGaz", the construction of a modern bull fattening farm is in full swing. It is energy-efficient, made of a metal frame, with a transparent roof that lets in daylight. Silage trenches are being built nearby. The farm for 520 heads will cost more than 2.6 million rubles. Within 350 days, they intend to fatten animals to a weight of 450 kg and sell 234 tons of meat annually. The profit will be 77.4 thousand rubles per year with a profitability of 26 percent. This calculation is largely based on the fact that expensive concentrates will not be used for fattening. High-quality feed will be grown on the surrounding 150 hectares of land and laid in trenches. No transportation, favorable logistics, therefore, the calculation of the economic efficiency of the beef production process should pay off.

Everything for the People

At SP "MazolovoGaz", they are thinking not only about increasing production efficiency but also about the good social well-being of the people living in the agro-town: a new open-air sports complex and a children's playground on Gazovikov Street have been opened. The heads of the region and the city took part in the grand opening of this center for physical development and a healthy lifestyle for the villagers. Nikolai Sherstnev, after cutting the traditional red ribbon, congratulated everyone on the good event, noting:

-- It is pleasant to be in a team where everything is done for the people, where there is a clear and consistent development strategy and a focus on success. The opening of the sports facility after the commissioning of the shopping center last year is another step towards achieving the goal of turning Mazolovo into a village of the future. We are only taking the first steps in the culture of the village. But if this beginning is fundamental, then there is confidence that our children will continue the good initiatives.

And they, the young residents of Mazolovo, have already fully mastered the bright multifunctional playground with swings, a slide, a rocking chair, and a soft surface, so their knees will be safe. And in the sports complex, you can play mini-football, volleyball, and nearby there are simulators under a canopy for all tastes. Villagers of all ages now have new opportunities for useful leisure time.
