Nikolai Sherstnev visited the reconstructed checkpoint "Urbany"

Николай Шерстнёв посетил реконструируемый пункт пропуска «Урбаны»
The full-scale reconstruction of the "Urbany" road border crossing, located on the Belarusian-Latvian section of the state border, is nearing completion.

Its necessity was driven by the constant growth of cargo and passenger traffic. It was required to increase the crossing's capacity several times – from 270 to at least 1000 vehicles per day and to create a full complex of infrastructure that meets modern European requirements. The progress of these tasks, as well as the readiness of the border crossing for commissioning, were inspected by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, and his deputies. The leadership of the region was introduced to the border and customs control facilities by the Head of the Polotsk Border Detachment, Pavel Kharchenko, and the Head of the Vitebsk Customs, Pavel Lobachev.

At the final stage of construction, it can already be concluded that this is one of the most modern border crossing points in Belarus, convenient for both staff and travelers. After inspecting the facilities, the deadlines for the completion of the work were determined.
