Nikolai Sherstnev took part in the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Orsha youth search club "Rusichi"

"The Earth Knows How to Speak" is the title of the book, each of its 400 pages resonating with the pain for the warriors who fell during the Great Patriotic War near Orsha. Their names have been found and immortalized thanks to the youth search club "Rusichi," founded and headed by the book's author, Grigory Sharay.

The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, came to congratulate the young patriots on the 30th anniversary of "Rusichi."

– Over three decades, more than 3,000 cadets have passed through the school of courage called "Rusichi," – noted the head of the region. – All of them have grown into worthy, respected individuals. More than 1200 reburials of soldiers and officers, more than 6,000 names returned to fallen soldiers… The relatives of the fallen and missing – they are the ones who can truly appreciate the significance of the work that "Rusichi" does. It is based on patriotism and honor.

Nikolai Sherstnev, on his own behalf and on behalf of the regional executive committee, expressed his gratitude to the cadets and Grigory Sharay.

– Without the ideological inspirer and a leader devoted to the cause, the club would not have been established, – emphasized Nikolai Nikolaevich. – Thanks to him, for 30 years, new generations of young men and women have been engaged in a noble cause. To foster strength of spirit and instill a firm moral core is invaluable.

Nikolai Sherstnev presented a letter of gratitude for personal contribution to the formation of civic consciousness among youth to Yuri Tribushevsky, chief specialist of the Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Orsha District Executive Committee. For active participation in the events of the "Rusichi" club, a similar award was given to Sergey Karpov, a 2nd-year student of the Orsha Polytechnic Vocational and Technical College.

The head of the Main Department for Education of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Dmitry Khoma, presented certificates from the department to the club's leader and its most active members. In addition, the youth patriotic club received a certificate for the purchase of a computer.

– One of our postulates states: “Only a person who knows the past of their Motherland and carefully preserves the brilliant examples of heroism in their memory can love their Motherland with all their soul and defend it to the last drop of blood,” said the head of "Rusichi" Grigory Sharay. – The guys are studying the basics of military affairs, history, and are being introduced to the heroic, combat, and labor traditions of our people. In the military-patriotic club, cadets are taught responsibility for their country and its future, and are tempered spiritually and physically.

Representatives of the Russian Union of Veterans, the Russian Association of Heroes, public associations, and the region's clergy also came to congratulate and present deserved medals, certificates, and letters of gratitude to Grigory Sharay and those involved in the activities of the youth-patriotic club.
