A celebration dedicated to the launch of natural gas supply to the agro-town of Shaiterovo was held in the Verkhnedvinsk district.

To congratulate the villagers on this long-awaited joyous event, the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, General Director of UP "Vitebskoblgaz" Petr Shershen, and Chairman of the Verkhnedvinsk District Executive Committee Igor Markovich arrived.

Currently, natural gas has been supplied to all cities and urban-type settlements in our region, and to 116 out of 254 agro-towns. The most pressing issue remains the gasification of rural areas, which is one of the tasks of the State Program "Comfortable Housing and a Favorable Environment." Last year, Vitebsk region was allocated 2.8 million rubles for these purposes, and a total of 32 km of gas pipelines were built.

The cost of designing and constructing gas distribution networks for the agro-town of Shaiterovo amounted to 1.355 million rubles, with a total pipeline length of 10.14 km.

The ceremonial lighting of the torch on the square in front of the Shaiterovo rural council building gathered numerous local residents and guests of the settlement.

Nikolai Sherstnev emphasized that natural gas not only brings comfort to homes but also stimulates production development, creates new jobs, and generally increases the attractiveness of the territory. The agro-town of Shaiterovo will become one of the growth points and will develop in unison with the entire district. The main goal of the transformations is to create decent living conditions for people so that young people stay to live and work in their native land, multiplying what their parents have achieved.

The celebration continued on the stage of the local House of Culture with the presentation of awards and a concert program performed by creative groups of UP "Vitebskoblgaz."

Nikolay Sherstnev presented a Certificate of Honor of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee to Alexey Kovalev, Director of the Polotskgaz department, and the Gratitude of the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee to Vasily Glasko, Chief Engineer of the Vitebskoblgaz department. Petr Shershen was awarded an Honorary Diploma and badge of the Regional Executive Committee for his significant personal contribution to the socio-economic development of the region and in connection with the 80th anniversary of the Vitebsk region.

Tatyana Razumnaya, Chairperson of the Shaiterovo Village Council, noted that the villagers associate great hopes with the introduction of natural gas. It will be used not only for cooking but also for heating homes, significantly simplifying the process and saving residents money.

Connecting gas equipment at the pig-breeding complex will increase the volume of pork production and sales by 500 tons with a simultaneous increase in revenue of 1 million 200 thousand rubles. When using gas for grain drying, savings will be at least 30%, or 100 thousand rubles annually. And the development of production will result in increased income and the implementation of additional social programs for all categories of citizens.

- Our team can move mountains, and in response to such a gift, we will try not to let the region down and further improve our work results, - emphasized Mikhail Gumnenkov, Director of Shaiterovo OJSC.

Currently, 52 apartments in 7 residential buildings in the agro-town of Shaiterovo have been switched to natural gas. In the future, gasification will cover 230 single-family homes, 3 grain drying complexes, a mixed feed plant, a pig-breeding complex, and the neighboring settlements of Prudinki and Volyntsy.

The norms of Presidential Decree No. 368 are aimed at making natural gas accessible to residents of rural settlements. According to this decree, state support of up to 70% of the cost of work is provided for gasification consumer cooperatives. In addition, citizens can take advantage of preferential loans from Belarusbank for a period of up to 2 years at 3% per annum. A cooperative for 49 houses has been established in the agro-town of Shaiterovo.

This year, Verkhnedvinsk will become the capital of the regional festival-fair "Dazhynki", in connection with which it will receive additional opportunities for the construction of facilities and the improvement of territories. The head of the executive power of the district, Igor Markovich, thanked the regional leadership for the trust and promised to prepare for the holiday with dignity.
