Nikolai Sherstnev: Enterprise creation is a priority for cooperation between the Vitebsk region and Slovakia
The establishment of enterprises should become a priority for cooperation between the Vitebsk region and Slovakia. This was stated today by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, at a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Slovakia to Belarus, Jozef Migash.
The head of the region emphasized that the parties should intensify cooperation, directing joint efforts primarily towards the creation of high-tech industries. "It is necessary to identify promising areas and create new enterprises here," stated the head of the region. "Let them be joint ventures or purely Slovak ones. This means new jobs and the economy of the region."
Nikolai Sherstnev stressed that the position of the regional executive committee is clear: "By organizing new production facilities, we are creating the foundation for tomorrow, the basis for the development of the region."
The governor supported the diplomat's initiatives on cooperation in the fields of pharmaceuticals, woodworking (waste processing and creation of elite products from valuable wood species), and energy (the region is interested in attracting investments for the construction of the Beshenkovichi HPP), etc. In addition, Nikolai Sherstnev proposed several more areas of mutually beneficial interaction to Jozef Migash, including in agriculture (livestock breeding) and light industry (manufacturing of clothing from fabrics of the Orsha Linen Mill).
