Nikolai Sherstnev: initiative, consistency, and perseverance are important in business development
"Vitebsk company competes with the best enterprises of Russia in this profile," said Nikolai Sherstnev. - It received financial support from the budget - about Br9 billion (redenominated) was invested from the investment fund. It is important to see firsthand what effect these funds have." The head of the region emphasized that the enterprise makes a good impression. "It works successfully, has serious prospects.
The company undoubtedly needs help to accelerate the pace of development. It is obvious that twice as much product can be produced here. This is the reserve we must realize in the shortest possible time by solving existing problems and removing obstacles that hinder development," the governor stated.
"Overall, I am satisfied. It would be good if all businesses developed like this. Many say that something hinders them. But here we saw an example - if there is initiative, consistency, and perseverance, then there will be a result. The authorities will always gladly support any positive initiative," Nikolai Sherstnev summarized.
The director of the enterprise, Andrey Sidorov, reported that about 98% of the enterprise's products are exported. The company's order portfolio is formed for 2-3 months ahead, and in the first quarter, revenue increased threefold. Sales markets are expanding, and the average salary level corresponds to $500. 240 people work at 4 enterprises that are part of "Vitebskiye Podemniki"; recently, 40 jobs have been created in a new workshop, which is gradually being commissioned. After all capacities are utilized, the number of employees in the new workshop will double.
The head of the enterprise also shared with the governor the problems that hinder development. "Unfortunately, these are not issues at the regional executive committee level. But we will find solutions by engaging the government and the prime minister. Some issues need to be resolved
together with the Russian side," the governor said. He stated that the Vitebsk company mainly installs hoists and crane installations on the chassis of Russian vehicles. "Why not on the chassis of our MAZ trucks, tractors from the Minsk Tractor Works? This is a serious problem. The enterprise purchases 250 units of equipment from Russia instead of receiving this equipment from our plants, installing equipment on a Belarusian chassis, and selling the result of joint work," emphasized Nikolai Sherstnev.Private enterprise "Vitebskiye Podemniki" traces its history back to 2004. In a short period, they have mastered practically the entire range of lifting machines, producing over 50 models, most of which are patented (own unique developments), including a hydraulic boom lift with mixed motion (articulating boom lift). Annually, the enterprise develops and simultaneously implements 3-5 models of special equipment into production.
