Nikolai Sherstnev presented a certificate for 10 thousand rubles to the Surazh kindergarten - secondary school of the Vitebsk region
Tanned, rested, and grown up, 135 students of the school and 33 children from the kindergarten have returned to their native homes. For the first time in many years, 17 first-graders will attend the school, which is five more children than in the past academic year. The educational institution has changed beyond recognition – the building facade has been painted, the canteen and sanitary rooms have undergone major repairs with equipment replacement, and new linoleum has been laid in the corridors. A new porch has appeared in the kindergarten building, reserve entrances have been renovated, lighting has been replaced, and asphalt has been laid in the yard. The monument to the children of Hero of the Soviet Union Minay Shmyryov, to which a new path made of porcelain stoneware tiles leads, has also been updated.
On Knowledge Day, a festive assembly was held at the educational institution, where representatives of regional and district authorities welcomed the children. Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev congratulated the children on the new academic year and wished everyone to quickly decide on their future profession. Today's students are tomorrow's specialists in demand in their small homeland.
Every year, Surazh School strengthens its material and technical base. Last year, students received three new classrooms for physics, chemistry, and biology, equipped according to the most modern requirements, and the computer science classroom is equipped with computers and a multi-board, which is second to none in the educational institutions of the regional center. Excellent conditions for acquiring in-depth knowledge have been created in the rural school, which is confirmed by the results.
Thus, last year, 9th-grade student Ekaterina Postnova became the winner of the final stage of the republican subject Olympiad and was awarded a third-degree diploma in physics. She is now studying at the Lyceum of BSU and is a scholarship holder of the special fund of the President for the social support of gifted students. Many school graduates have entered universities.
Presenting a certificate to the school principal for 10 thousand rubles, the head of the region did not fail to note: "It is worth investing money in the development of such villages as Surazh, because the younger generation must see prospects. Recently, many facilities have appeared in the Surazh direction, and the school has responded positively to investments, hence the high knowledge of the children. This is the result of systematic work, and educational institutions like this in similar villages should exist and develop. The periphery needs special attention."
"The most respected people live in the countryside, because parents instill values in their children. By joining forces with educators, one can raise true patriots of their homeland," emphasized Gennady Sabynich, Chairman of the Vitebsk District Executive Committee.
After the solemn ceremony, the first-graders sat at their desks for the first time. Nikolai Sherstnev also tried on the role of a student, presenting the children with books and sweet gifts.
According to the results of the 2021 admission campaign, 31 graduates of educational institutions in the Vitebsk region chose agricultural professions, and 14 agreements were concluded with regional enterprises for targeted training of specialists.
