Notaries of the Vitebsk region received 1.9 thousand citizens in agro-towns in 2010

Notaries of the Vitebsk region are considering the possibility of providing free consultations to residents of agro-towns within the framework of the "Legal Knowledge - for Everyone" campaign. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Marina Bykova, Deputy Head of the Main Justice Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. In 2010, state notaries provided over 1.1 thousand free consultations in notary offices. This year, the "Legal Knowledge - for Everyone" campaign will be continued, and its scope may be extended beyond urban areas. As Marina Bykova noted, despite the fact that state and private notaries work in large settlements, villagers do not remain without legal assistance. Last year, notaries from state offices made 179 trips to agro-towns, where they received 1.9 thousand citizens, performed about 1.5 thousand notarial acts, and provided over 1.6 thousand consultations. The most in-demand notary services were used by residents of Beshenkovichi, Glubokoye, Verkhnedvinsk, Postavy, and Liozno districts. In 2011, trips to rural areas will continue. In total, in the Vitebsk region in 2010, state notary offices performed over 103 thousand notarial acts, and private notaries performed over 17 thousand. As of January 1, 2011, the staffing level of state notaries in the region is 93 people, and 6 private notaries also work. 32 state notary offices provide services to the population. -0-
