A new free-stall dairy farm has appeared in the Polotsk district
The general contractor for the work was Novopolotsk SRSu-3, which specializes in the construction and repair of petrochemical complex facilities, but also completed the non-standard order for them excellently. Now the organization, as noted by its Director Alexander Korolenok, will more actively offer its services for the construction of livestock buildings in other regions of the oblast.
Construction lasted from May to December and was completed within the regulatory timeframe. The villagers received a gift just in time for the New Year. Honored guests cut the symbolic red ribbon, but the housewarming for the cows was postponed due to severe frosts.
— The head of the oblast gave instructions to commission one farm in each district annually. We have fulfilled our task at this stage. Thank you all for your responsible attitude to work, — said the Chairman of the Polotsk District Executive Committee Nikolai Shevchuk at the opening of the facility.
He emphasized that the construction of the "Kauny" farm will allow "P-S Karpeki" to increase its milking herd by 200 head. Gross milk production will increase, and the farm will receive a boost for further development. Modern technologies are being introduced here, which will work to strengthen the region's economy, increase wages, and improve working and living conditions for people. Following the first phase of the start-up complex, it is planned to commission a milking parlor and other livestock buildings, carry out landscaping of the territories and asphalting of driveways, and improve the infrastructure of settlements.
General Director of JSC "Polotsk-Steklovolokno" Andrey Bunakov plans to continue the initiated transformations. Based on the results of last year, the enterprise operated profitably and increased its production capacity by
20%, and it has gained the opportunity to help its farm, which now has new growth prospects.— The average annual milk yield per cow is 6,300 kg, last year we added more than 800 liters and we are not going to stop there, — said **Alexander Kovalev, director of P-S Karpeki**.
The farm has prepared feed for 2.5 years in advance — 67 centners of feed units per conventional head of cattle. They are developing breeding, so new farms will be stocked with their own livestock. Cattle weight gain also increased by 140%. They are also successfully working on increasing grain yield, which should be at least 50 centners per hectare.
Today, P-S Karpeki is one of the leaders in the district and intends to further strengthen its position. The head of the farm sees reserves for increasing economic efficiency in all areas of activity, and considers the implementation of new technologies to be the key to success.
