A new football pitch has opened in Dubrovno
The sports facility is located in a densely populated microdistrict of the city, on the territory of secondary school No. 2. The pitch size is 20 m by 40 m. Its appearance will contribute to the development of football, the leading sport in the district. Immediately after the opening ceremony today, one of the stages of the "Leather Ball" football competition for children and teenagers was held on the pitch: young footballers from schools No. 1 and No. 2 of the district center competed for advancement in the tournament table.
The significance of today's event was emphasized by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, who, among other distinguished guests of the event, was given the honor to take the first kick on the new pitch. "It is joyful when new facilities are commissioned, especially when they are built for children," noted Nikolai Sherstnev. The head of the region specifically focused on the continuous renewal of the district center. "We started this several years ago when we were preparing Dubrovno for 'Dazhynki'. We understood that not everything was done, and consistently, year after year, we will commission new facilities. This is indeed the case for Dubrovno. And in the future, the city should become fresher, more attractive, and most importantly, conditions should be created here for the retention of youth. So that young people, after finishing school and obtaining higher education, want to return to live and work here," emphasized the head of the region.
The social project was implemented by the Dubrovno District Executive Committee, the Belarusian Football Federation, and the Turov Dairy Factory. Enterprises and organizations of the district, as well as local residents, also made their feasible contribution to the common cause. Thanks to the deep interest of all parties, the construction of the playground was completed in the shortest possible time.
As noted by Ivan Gorovets, Director of the Department for Ensuring Sports Events of the Belarusian Football Federation, in 2020, with the support of the Turov Dairy Factory, 30 such playgrounds and 14 full-size fields will appear throughout Belarus.
"In the Vitebsk region, great attention is paid to the development of sports. This year, we are also building a football arena in Vitebsk. I think we will erect this facility by September. I hope that in the future this will allow us to replenish the ranks of our national team with new talented players," added Ivan Gorovets.
