A new district polyclinic has opened in Verkhnedvinsk

The event was attended by Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev, Aide to the President - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Vitaly Vovk, Head of the Main Department of Healthcare of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Yuri Derkach, representatives of local authorities, the polyclinic staff, and residents of the district center. According to Nikolai Sherstnev, during the preparation for the regional "Dazhynki" festival, Verkhnedvinsk has become a cozy town. "The opening of the new facility indicates that work is being carried out step-by-step to improve social conditions for the population. We understand that not everything has been done yet in the healthcare of Verkhnedvinsk and its district, but we will consistently solve all issues," said the governor. The head of the region also emphasized the need for annual improvement of living conditions in small towns and rural settlements.

The polyclinic is located in the unused building of the former hotel. The customer for construction and installation work was the State Enterprise "Capital Construction Management of Novopolotsk". ODO "Vector-A" acted as the general contractor. The new polyclinic houses an adult department for 75 visits per shift, a dentist's office, a day hospital, physiotherapy and massage rooms, a diagnostic unit, a pharmacy, and a children's clinic for 50 visits per shift. The latter includes separate rooms for examining sick and healthy children, and the possibility of contact between adult visitors to the polyclinic and young patients is also excluded. The diagnostic unit includes an X-ray room, a clinical diagnostic laboratory, and is equipped with a digital fluorograph and a dental X-ray machine with a videograph. To improve accessibility for patients with disabilities, one of the roomsis located on the first floor.

The head of the main healthcare department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Yury Derkach, spoke about the main feature of the new facility. "This is the first polyclinic built for general practitioners' offices, which ensures the accessibility of medical care," he emphasized. Yury Derkach noted that Verkhnedvinsk is small in population. Doctors already know virtually every family and the problems people have, which allows for competent patient management, referral to narrow specialists at the local hospital or, if additional help is needed, to the inter-district medical center.
