A new school will open in Vitebsk by September 1st

August 5, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. A new school in Vitebsk's Bilevo-1 microdistrict will open by September 1, the deputy head of the city executive committee's education department, Alexandra Gaponova, told a BELTA correspondent. Secondary School No. 46 is designed for 930 students and is set to become one of the best educational institutions in the regional center. About Br30 billion was allocated for the construction of the facility, with funding from the regional and republican budgets. The school is currently being equipped with all necessary equipment and teaching aids, and preparations are underway for its commissioning. The school will provide a comfortable environment for the education, upbringing, and personal development of children. It will feature special classrooms for music, extracurricular activities, a well-stocked library, two dining halls, and a large canteen. For students in grades 8-9, classes will be formed based on various specializations, which will help future graduates with career guidance and focused preparation for university admissions based on their chosen profession. A developed sports infrastructure has also been created, including a stadium complex with volleyball and basketball courts, a hockey rink, a football field, and a tennis court on the school grounds. The opening of the school in the new and developing Bilevo-1 microdistrict will be a long-awaited event for local residents, who have had to send their children to schools in other parts of the city. Given the urgent need for school places, approximately 1,200 students are expected to attend the new educational institution on September 1, including 12 classes for first-graders. Classes will be held in two shifts. In addition, a kindergarten for 170 children is planned to open in the Bilevo-1 microdistrict this year, and construction of a second kindergarten for 270 children is expected to begin. Considering the prospects for housing development in the city, another kindergarten for 270 children and a secondary school are being designed for the neighboring Bilevo-2 microdistrict.
