A new Union program in the field of tourism may appear in 2011

A program in the field of tourism is being developed by the Union State, Deputy State Secretary - Member of the Standing Committee of the Union State Sergey Shukhno told reporters today. He took part in a working meeting on the interaction of Belarusian and Russian ministries and departments on the development of tourism, physical culture and sports within the framework of the Union State, BELTA correspondent reports. As Sergey Shukhno noted, there are already specific proposals regarding the development of tourism and the creation of cross-border routes, primarily in the border regions of Belarus and Russia. The creation of this program is actively supported in the regions. The Deputy State Secretary expressed hope that in 2011 the union program in the field of tourism will be developed and the first tourist route through the Union State will appear. Sergey Shukhno recalled that the budget of the Union State for 2010 is about 5 billion Russian rubles, financing of 40 joint programs is carried out, 23% of the budget is directed to projects related to culture, sports, education and other social spheres. Officials from republican and federal ministries and departments, representatives of the regions of Belarus and Russia took part in the meeting. -0-
