A new foreign enterprise in Orsha became the best resident of the FEZ "Vitebsk" in 2015

The best resident of the "Vitebsk" free economic zone based on the results of work in 2015 was recognized as a newcomer - the foreign enterprise "Linpac Packaging East" in Orsha. The winner was announced today at the final meeting in the FEZ administration.

Traditionally, the free economic zone identifies its leaders based on the results of the past year, and winners are selected in nominations. The best resident this time was recognized as IOOO "Linpac Packaging East", the best investor - the foreign unitary enterprise "VIK - animal health", and the best exporter - OJSC "Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant". The enterprise "Linpac Packaging East" (a subsidiary of the English group Linpac Group) was registered in the "Vitebsk" FEZ in 2012. For two years of project implementation, English businessmen have invested more than $10 million in production. The production itself was launched in 2014. In the acquired areas of the Orsha plant of automatic control devices, packaging for food products, returnable containers, and plastic containers made of expanded polystyrene are now produced. The overall results of the FEZ's work in 2015 were announced in figures. "The most important thing is that in difficult conditions, you managed to preserve the workforces and production potential," noted Sergey Yurkevich, addressing the heads of resident enterprises. "Last year, 193 jobs were created. As of today, the number of workers is over 11.2 thousand people. An increase in the average monthly salary was ensured, its rate was 110.8%, including 115.7% in enterprises without departmental subordination."

Sergey Yurkevich also noted the growth rate of industrial production, which by 2014 amounted to 119.8% (including import-substituting - 116.1%). Positive results for 2015 include the share of shipped innovative products in the total volume of shipped goods, the share of revenue from the sale of goods (works, services) outside Belarus in the total revenue, the growth rate of labor productivity, and a number of others. "There are also negative aspects: last year, the export of resident enterprises decreased in dollar terms and amounted to $312 million. But in physical terms, there was no decline. We had a positive foreign trade balance of $115 million. The products of residents were exported to 49 countries, of which only 9 are CIS countries. Sales markets in 20 foreign countries and 51 regions of the Russian Federation have been developed. The range of exports has been expanded. Supply volumes to Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium have significantly increased," added the head of the FEZ administration.

Currently, 39 enterprises are implementing their investment projects as residents of the FEZ "Vitebsk" (28 in the regional center). In 2015, one resident was added in Orsha - the "Legmash" plant. And 6 enterprises lost this status: they completed the implementation of their projects, were excluded due to non-fulfillment of contractual obligations, established indicators, or simply closed down (OAO "KIM").
