The President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, approved the appointment of Andrey Vasilyevich Soyko as General Director of Naftan OJSC on October 20. On Monday, October 26, the new head was officially introduced to the work collective.
Andrey Soyko has dedicated his entire professional career to the petrochemical industry. He held various positions within the Belneftekhim concern system. For six years, prior to his appointment as Deputy Chairman of the concern, he headed Lakokraska OJSC.
– The main task facing Naftan is external competitiveness and ensuring the economy, – emphasized the Chairman of the Belneftekhim concern, Andrey Rybakov. – You will primarily be engaged in the economy, finding new and retaining existing domestic and foreign markets for the enterprise to exist and for employees to have decent wages. The issue of completing modernization is acute. Andrey Vasilyevich has already been set such tasks. The team is capable of handling them; together, you can solve them. The flag of Naftan will continue to be the pride of the industry, the region, and the country.
In his address to the petrochemical complex workforce, Alexander Demidov thanked everyone for their joint work. He expressed confidence that such a team of professionals is capable of completing projects and will continue to develop the enterprise. It is important to support the initiatives of the new leader and to use time resources effectively.
– I have been entrusted with the great honor and responsibility of leading the team, – noted the new General Director, Andrey Soyko. – Undoubtedly, Naftan is a leader in our country, the largest enterprise. I am well acquainted with the flagship; I have worked at partner enterprises. By education, work experience, and professional competencies, I am an economist. Our common main goal is to ensure the operability of Naftan under the conditions of world oil prices. I will evaluate all processes, the performance of each employee, and each department from the perspective of efficiency. We will have to work thoroughly on the profitability of each business area.
