New Year's wish trees will help fulfill the dreams of the pupils of the Vitebsk orphanage

Новогодние елки желаний помогут исполнить мечты воспитанников Витебского детского дома

New Year's trees of wishes will help fulfill the dreams of the pupils of the Vitebsk orphanage, the chairman of the Oktyabrsky district organization of Vitebsk of the Belarusian Red Cross Society, Mikhail Gusachenko, told a BELTA correspondent.

The campaign starts on December 15. On this day, New Year's trees will appear in the Evikom shopping complex, the new covered pavilion of the Smolensk market, and the Evroopt store on Moskovsky Prospekt in Vitebsk, decorated not with toys, but with children's photos with their wishes for New Year's gifts. The dreams of these children are simple and no different from the wishes of their peers surrounded by family warmth. For example, seven-year-old Kirill asks Santa Claus for skis and a bicycle, six-year-old Masha for a big doll, and Vika, who will go to school next year, for a school uniform. The list also includes toy cars, construction sets, fancy dresses, and other gifts. Those who wish to participate in the campaign can not be tol

to buy a gift, but also to make a charitable donation. "However, perhaps by looking at the children's faces, someone will respond and fulfill the main wish of each of these little ones - to give them their parental love," noted Mikhail Gusachenko.

The "New Year's Tree of Wishes" charity event is being held in the regional center for the third time, and other districts are also gladly joining it. As wishes are fulfilled, photos of children from the trees are removed. "Every year we have one goal: to have not a single photo left on the trees," the interlocutor noted, emphasizing that this is usually the case thanks to the kindness and responsiveness of people.

The gifts will traditionally be handed over to the children from the orphanage on December 31st. Volunteers of the organization will arrive at the social institution in the first half of the day to delight the children and give them a real holiday. Anyone who wishes can join them.
