Novopolotsk establishes ties with a new partner in China – the city of Heihe

"Interregional cooperation with Chinese cities and provinces is currently intensifying throughout Belarus. Novopolotsk already has a twin city in the PRC - the city of Weihai. Now we are expanding our ties and have invited new potential partners from the city of Heihe, with a population of two million. A delegation of six representatives of the administrative apparatus, headed by the Secretary of the CPC Committee in Heihe, arrived for an introductory visit and will stay until June 9," the city executive committee explained.

In the morning, the guests were welcomed by the Mayor of Novopolotsk, Dmitry Demidov, and then they went to familiarize themselves with important cultural and social facilities: the Museum of History and Culture of Novopolotsk, the territorial center for social services, the central city hospital, Polotsk State University, and other educational institutions, including the Olympic Reserve College.

The delegation will also visit a number of enterprises: OJSC "Naftan", "Polimir" plant, SOOO "LLK-Naftan", OJSC "Izmeritel", the sanatorium of OJSC "Naftan", and the tourist complex "Krasny Bor". In general, the four-day program will allow guests to gain a broad understanding of the development of all spheres of the city's life and find points for cooperation. "The visit may result in the signing of a protocol of intent, and in the future, we expect Novopolotsk to acquire another twin city in China," the city executive committee concluded.
