Novopolotsk has prepared a gift for a dad who will have an heir on the City Day

August 31, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Novopolotsk opens today a series of festive events dedicated to the City Day. The oil city decided to celebrate its 52nd birthday surrounded by family, because "Novopolotsk is a big family, together we are a hundred thousand "I", the head of the ideological work department of the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee Ekaterina Popok told a BELTA correspondent, naming the motto of the holiday. The Novopolotsk family will be the main hero of all city events: for it and in its honor, artists will sing and dance all week, folk craftsmen will demonstrate their skills, and city athletes will compete. The Republican Public Association "Belaya Rus" decided to give Novopolotsk residents a meeting with classical and youth music and organized "Belaya Rus Musical Evenings", which will kick off the holiday. On Knowledge Day, September 1, Novopolotsk will arrange a holiday for its young citizens and will await them after school assemblies at a concert dedicated to the start of the academic year. The main event of the third day of the celebrations will be the initiation into builders of the first-year students of the Novopolotsk State Vocational Lyceum of Builders. The event will be held for the first time, and it is not by chance that the square near the monument to the builders of Novopolotsk - "The First Tent" - was chosen as its venue, because more than half a century ago the city was declared an all-Union Komsomol shock construction project. The culmination of the celebrations will be Saturday, September 4. It is on this day that the city will honor its families. Labor dynasties, the best large families, golden wedding couples who have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, and, of course, newlyweds will take the stage on Builders' Square. And the most unexpected gift will be prepared by the city executive committee and the holiday organizers for a young father who will have a new addition to his family on September 4. The celebrations will conclude on September 5 with a circus performance at the city stadium with the participation of tightrope walkers from Kyrgyzstan and the Vladimir Kustov show theater from Minsk. Numerous guests from twin cities will come to congratulate Novopolotsk on its birthday. -0-
