Novopolotsk will widely celebrate the birthdays of "Naftan" and "Polimir"

Novopolotsk will widely celebrate the birthdays of its core enterprises – Naftan OJSC and Polimir plant, as reported by the local city executive committee. February 4 marks 48 years since the production of the first Belarusian polyethylene, and February 9 marks 53 years since the production of the first Belarusian gasoline. These dates are considered the birthdays of the Polimir plant and Naftan OJSC, respectively. Although these are not юбилей dates, Novopolotsk will widely celebrate the upcoming anniversary with a series of festivities, concerts, events, awards, and sports and intellectual competitions from February 3 to 9. A special event will be the unveiling of a memorial plaque on February 4 to Pyotr Korotkov, former director of the Polotsk oil refinery and honorary citizen of Novopolotsk, at the "First Tent" memorial complex. In September last year, the city celebrated the 100th anniversary of the birth of this leader, under whom the plant became one of the largest oil refineries in Europe. Following the unveiling of the plaque, a solemn ceremony for awarding commemorative medals "100 Years Since the Birth of P.I. Korotkov" will be held in the small hall of the Naftan OJSC Palace of Culture.

The next day, a celebratory evening "Energy of Creation" with a concert and a dance and entertainment program will be a gift for Naftan employees and labor veterans, and their families. On the weekend, a grand winter festival "My Favorite Plant" will gather everyone on the shore of Lake Molodezhnoye. If the weather permits, there will be ice fishing competitions between the teams of Naftan OJSC and Polimir plant, games and contests, a concert, festive trade, awards for winners of year-round sports competitions, a competition of life-size figures and compositions, creative presentations of workshops, attractions, and a disco.
