Новую плиту с 41 фамилией воинов, погибших при освобождении Дубровенского района, открыли на мемориальном комплексе "Рыленки"
A new plaque with 41 names of soldiers who died during the liberation of the Dubrovno district has been unveiled at the Rylenkі memorial complex.

A rally dedicated to the 77th anniversary of the liberation of the village of the same name was held here. The events were attended by Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies.

– 413 thousand soldiers and officers are buried in our region, 206 thousand of them are still unidentified, – noted the head of the deputy corps. – It is very important that through years and decades we learn the names of those who fought for the Motherland, for the independence of our country.

Vladimir Terentyev recalled that on October 15, a ceremony was held in Vitebsk to present School No. 33 with a certificate of assignment of the name of twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Army General Ivan Danilovich Chernyakhovsky.

– Today is also a significant event, – emphasized Vladimir Vladimirovich. – Because such events are never ordinary. Today we are unveiling a plaque with 41 names of soldiers who died during the liberation of the district. They were identified thanks to local historians and search teams from the Dubrovno district. And today, 77 years later, the relatives of these soldiers can come here and bow their heads. And these are not even grandchildren, but great-grandchildren. It is very important that the memory is alive and we are proud of it.

It took the employees of the Dubrovno District Library a little over six months to identify dozens of new names. Anatoly Lukashev, Chairman of the District Executive Committee, said that the painstaking work of searching for and collecting information was led by Dubrovno local historian Alexey Gavrutikov. Among those immortalized are Ivan Gudkov, a medic of the sanitary platoon of the 1st rifle battalion; Ivan Drozdov, a signalman of the signal company; Senior Sergeant Ivan Khatuntsev; Red Army soldiers Dmitry Vlasov, Kuzma Shchelokov, and others… Behind each of these names is a true feat and our glorious history.

Today, the Rylionki Memorial Complex is one of the most majestic monuments in the country, erected in the mass burial sites of Red Army soldiers on the territory of Belarus. It should be recalled that the memorial was opened in 1973. At that time, the names of 5,100 soldiers who died during the liberation of Dubrovensky district were known. During the reconstruction, 228 memorial plaques were erected, bearing the surnames of 9,402 soldiers.
