New electronic boards and route bus schedule signs will appear at bus stops in Vitebsk
As reported by vitvesti.by, Sergey Marshalevich, Director of "Perevozchik Operator", stated that the issue of installing 10 electronic displays at public transport stops in Vitebsk, as well as several devices in major cities of the region, is currently under discussion. Additionally, for the first time, route taxi schedule boards will soon appear at terminal stops.
Recall that the first LED display with up-to-date information on bus and trolleybus movements appeared in Vitebsk at the "Lenin Square" public transport stop.
The display was manufactured by the Belarusian communication agency "Vremya Slavy" (Borisov). This installation provides passengers with real-time data on routes and waiting times. Similar gadgets are already in operation at stops in Brest, Grodno, and Mogilev.
In Vitebsk, the company collaborates with the enterprise "Perevozchik Operator," which has developed special software and provides operational transport information. This regional communal organization initiated the project and plans to widely develop similar services.
– For now, we can only talk about a promising development and a successfully conducted experiment, – says Sergey Marshalevich. – The widespread implementation of the system faces a number of legal and financial issues. Unfortunately, we do not have sponsors to support this initiative. The "Vremya Slavy" agency is open to cooperation and has a cost minimization program through advertising placement. This option has greatly interested us. Negotiations begin today, and their success will determine the course of future events.
