New victories of Vitebsk collectives at the festival «Baltic Voyage 2014»

The ensembles of the Vitebsk Culture Center – the pop song studio "FORUM", the song and music theater "PROSTORY", and the preparatory vocal and choreographic studio "DO-MI-SOL" – embarked on another creative journey. The project that allowed the Vitebsk children to prove themselves once again was the VI International Festival of Children's and Youth Creativity "BALTIC VOYAGE-2014".

The ensembles of the Vitebsk Culture Center – the pop song studio "FORUM", the song and music theater "PROSTORY", and the preparatory vocal and choreographic studio "DO-MI-SOL" – embarked on another creative journey. The project that allowed the Vitebsk children to prove themselves once again was the VI International Festival of Children's and Youth Creativity "BALTIC VOYAGE-2014". Vocalists, dancers, and instrumentalists from Armenia, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, and Uzbekistan gathered on one stage. The children from Vitebsk did not intend to break the tradition of numerous creative victories: bright, sincere, incendiary, and, of course, impeccably pure in performance numbers – and a whole 9 awards from the "Baltic" festival are ours!

The festival took place from November 2 to 6, 2014, on the cruise ship "IZABELLA": passengers enjoyed a swift journey along the Riga – Stockholm – Riga route and participated not only in the competition program but also in numerous educational and entertainment events. Vitebsk ensembles were represented in 4 vocal genres (pop, folk, jazz, pop-rock) and in all age categories (5-18 years and older). Despite the large number of participants and considerable competition, every participant from Vitebsk received an award. Here are the names of our winners:

– "DO-MI-SOL" Studio: Maria BOLOTSKAYA (6 years old, special prize in the folk genre) and Anastasia SOBOLEVA (8 years old, special prize in the pop genre);

– "FORUM" Pop Song Studio: Vika APANASENOK (11 years old, 1st place in the folk genre), Vladislava BURUNOVA (9 years old, 3rd place in the pop genre), Diana ZAITSEVA (10 years old, special prize in the pop genre). The "FORUM" studio performed not only in the solo nomination but also in the group nomination: the folk song "KUROCHKA" earned the ensemble 2nd place;

– Theatre of Song and Music "PROSTORY": Sergey KUKHARENKO (22 years old, 1st place in the "pop-rock" genre and 3rd place in the pop genre), Yana KUSHCHINA (14 years old, 2nd place in the "jazz" genre).

The festival organizers prepared an extensive entertainment program for participants and guests: during the five-day cruise, excursions were held to the Astrid LINDGREN Fairy Tale Museum and the Vasa Museum (Stockholm), where the children saw the world's only preserved 17th-century ship. And on the modern ship

"ISABELLA" discos were held, and game events were conducted, where vocalists communicated not as competing contestants, but as friends and colleagues on stage who have something to share.

After the eventful festival journey, the Vitebsk ensembles began preparations for New Year's programs, which residents and guests of Vitebsk will see in December.
