New approaches to law enforcement at the "Slavianski Bazaar" have paid off - head of the Internal Affairs Directorate

Новые подходы в охране правопорядка на \"Славянском базаре\" себя оправдали - начальник УВД

New approaches in ensuring law and order and security at the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" have paid off, noted today the Head of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Ivan Kubrakov at the summing up of the law enforcement officers' work during the "Slavianski Bazaar" festival.

"It was important for us to fulfill the task of ensuring security, but at the same time to preserve the festive atmosphere. The first people encountered by those going to the concert were the employees of the checkpoints. Despite the huge workload, they tried to greet people with a smile. We promptly resolved emerging issues. For example, there was one hot day when spectators queuing for admission asked for water to be available nearby. We resolved this issue with the festival organizers. Innovations, including those for the admission of special categories of citizens - mothers with young children, pregnant women, veterans, disabled people - found support and understanding," said Ivan Kubrakov.

Of course, there were offenses during the festival days; verification materials are in the territorial police departments. The same applies to the traffic situation - no serious accidents occurred in the city, however, Ivan Kubrakov noted an increase in the detection of drunk drivers throughout the region, including festival Vitebsk. And this is despite all the preventive measures taken. Administrative protocols have been drawn up for all offenders, and most likely, they will become pedestrians for some time.

To ensure the safety of guests and residents of the city during the "Slavianski Bazaar," about a thousand law enforcement officers were on duty daily in Vitebsk. Colleagues from other regions of the country came to help. Employees of the OMON of the Minsk City Executive Committee, the Internal Affairs Directorates of the Brest and Grodno Regional Executive Committees assisted in organizing the access control system at the Summer Amphitheater, the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall, and also patrolled the city center together with their Vitebsk colleagues. Servicemen of the internal troops

units of military units 3214 (Minsk), 5448 (Minsk) and 3310 (Okolitsa of Minsk district) were involved in both guarding festival sites and patrolling the city streets together with patrols of the patrol and post service of the Vitebsk region. Traffic police officers from other regions and Minsk were also involved.

Today, Ivan Kubrakov presented certificates of honor to colleagues for their assistance. And the best Vitebsk employees were awarded letters of gratitude from the regional executive committee and the regional Council of Deputies.
