New fire trucks have joined the fleet of district emergency departments in the Vitebsk region
Seven fire trucks, received by the Dvina rescuers at the end of 2014, were dispatched in December and January to the Tolochin, Vitebsk, Liozno, Shumilino, Miory, Postavy, and Rossono district departments for emergency situations.
In total, over the past two years, as explained by the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 14 new MAZ-chassis fire trucks have arrived in the region. This is high-traffic equipment with a large supply of extinguishing agent (8-10 tons). Such vehicles allow for more effective firefighting, especially in rural areas where it is more difficult to access fire ponds and refuel. After all, the 2.5 tons of liquid that old tankers hold is enough for the continuous operation of three fire hoses for only about four minutes. Thanks to the new MAZ trucks, this time is increased significantly.
