New fire safety rules in the forests of Belarus will be introduced on November 1
August 17, Minsk / Tatyana Lobas - BELTA /. New fire safety rules for forests in Belarus will be introduced on November 1 of this year, the Ministry of Forestry informed BELTA correspondent.
The rules are approved by the resolution of the sectoral ministry of August 10, No. 20. This regulatory document will replace the current fire safety rules for forests of the USSR of 1971, the regulation on fire-chemical stations of the BSSR of 1980, and the guidelines for fire prevention in forests and regulation of forest fire services of 1973.
The new fire safety rules for forests in Belarus regulate all organizational and technical measures aimed at preventing the occurrence and spread of forest fires and their extinguishment. They establish fire safety requirements in the country's forest fund and are mandatory for legal entities and individuals. The document defines general fire safety requirements for forest protection from fires, as well as specific fire safety requirements: during logging, harvesting of resin and secondary forest resources.
In addition, the regulations for legal entities engaged in forestry, other organizations for forest protection from fires, the regulation on fire-chemical stations, and the minimum list of firefighting equipment assigned to fire-chemical stations (FCS) and fire equipment points (FEP) have been approved. A standard program for conducting fire safety training (FST) and a passport for a fire-chemical station have also been approved.
The rules are intended for study by all employees of the State Production Forestry Association and forestry enterprises. By October 10, every responsible specialist in forestry must study them thoroughly. The General Directors of the State Production Forestry Associations are instructed to equip fire-chemical stations and fire equipment points with firefighting equipment in accordance with the minimum list established by the fire safety rules for forests in Belarus by February 15, 2011.
The new regulatory document is available for public use by all citizens on the website of the Ministry of Forestry (www.mlh.by).-0-
