A subbotnik (volunteer clean-up day) to tidy up the land is taking place in Orsha

Субботник по наведению порядка на земле проходит в Орше

The new head of the Orsha district has begun to assemble a team to work in the region. This was announced by the Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee, Igor Isachenko, to journalists during a subbotnik at the Orsha Tool Plant.

"As of today, two deputy chairmen are missing – one for social issues, and another overseeing construction, housing and communal services, and road services. Yesterday, new candidates were agreed upon with the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev. They are to be approved, and I believe they will start working from Monday. Additionally, based on the results of the subbotnik and as needed during the work process, personnel changes will be made. In particular, I have questions regarding agriculture. Many of the district's indicators are below the national average, despite significant potential," Igor Isachenko said.

He added that today's subbotnik and the cleanup efforts in the coming days will serve as a litmus test for the performance of the heads of organizations.

"Today, employees of industrial enterprises, agricultural organizations, housing and communal services, as well as workers in education, healthcare, and culture are tidying up. This is a catalyst to ensure everyone understands that large-scale improvement works will be carried out in the region. Such work will continue for more than one day. I have issued instructions

corresponding supervisory authorities will see how the managers will restore order in the coming days and whether anything will move from a standstill. On Monday, based on this monitoring, I will draw certain conclusions. It is not excluded that someone will be brought to disciplinary responsibility, and possibly, in some cases, the issue of replacing the director of a particular organization will arise," emphasized the new head of the district.

Igor Isachenko noted that the head of state Alexander Lukashenko recently signed a decree allocating Br4 million for repair work at the Orsha Tool Plant, including on the problematic roof of one of the workshops. Construction trust No. 18 has already started this work, and other organizations will join later. The task is to restore elementary order so that people can work comfortably.

On his first working day, the chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee met with the heads of the district's enterprises. Specific tasks have been set for each of them. "We agreed that if any problems arise, I am always ready to discuss them and offer support. But, unfortunately, some managers have been in their positions for too long and cannot establish elementary order in the premises and on the territory. These works do not require huge financial investments and a lot of time. Only desire and systematic work," said Igor Isachenko.

He also emphasized that today the chief architect of the Vitebsk region, along with the director of the design institute "ZhilStroyProekt", will arrive and make their proposals for improving the appearance of Orsha. "Nevertheless, the main issue will remain the economic development of the region and attracting investment. When a director is proactive, monitors and is involved in product sales, modernization, and observes how the enterprise develops in various directions, problems will not arise. In this case, we can talk about targeted assistance," emphasized Igor Isachenko.

According to him, working groups have currently been created at the government and Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee levels to resolve problem issues in the Orsha district as quickly as possible. Already

local authorities have developed proposals on what needs to be done in the construction sector, industry, and the social sphere. By the end of next week, these proposals will be reviewed at a working group meeting in the government, to be submitted to the President in the future.
